The exploitation rights for this work remain in force. However, Article 37.3 of the Intellectual Property Law (Royal Legislative Decree 1/1996, of 12 April) states:
"No authorisation from the author shall be required for the communication of works or for making them available to specific individuals for research purposes when this is done through a closed and internal network via specialised terminals installed for this purpose on the premises of the establishments mentioned in the previous paragraph, provided that such works are part of the institution’s own collections and are not subject to acquisition or licensing conditions."
